Brian Sweeney, EVP, Systems Integration

Brian brings over 10 years of project management and design for digital fabrication experience to Full Stack. After 2 years at the Product Architecture and Engineering Master’s program at Stevens Institute of Technology, Mr. Sweeney worked for Forest City Ratner Companies as the project lead BIM coordinator for several years, utilizing Catia software to convert design information into usable data for both the contractor and developer. Working on such projects as Gehry Partners Atlantic Yards and 8 Spruce Street. In 2009, Mr. Sweeney made the jump to the newly formed SHoP Construction, affiliated with SHoP Architects which was ultimately chosen as the design architect for the Barclays Center design. With his prior experience of the site and client, Brian as project manager led a talented team that delivered the arena’s iconic weathering steel façade and curtainwall mega panel system utilizing several manufacturing-based applications, true innovation in the AEC industry going from design to direct to fabrication and install. Continuing his efforts in support of direct to fabrication initiatives within a design community, as Operations Director his work continued with the Nassau Coliseum façade renovation, Barclays Center’s green roof, as well as several modular initiatives while at SHoP. In 2015, Mr. Sweeney had taken his talents to FC Modular where he contributed to ensure that 461 Dean Street, predicted to be the tallest residential modular building in the world, was completed in the factory and on-site setting leading to the opening in the Fall of 2016.

Each work experience and relationship along the way has been a building block. Brian has spent the last two years educating and honing skills relating to modular design and manufacturing while being afforded the opportunity to theorize and develop a new genre for design interaction and delivery by way of the digital model. Creator and manager of winning teams, Brian’s affability and poise foster environments that encourage an open and productive exchange of ideas within and between teams.

His responsibilities will include:

  • Defining the product’s system design and completing the architecture specification throughout the product development cycle
  • Leading the effort to improve the product’s robustness, function, reliability and cost through design innovation
  • Overseeing the development of the company’s product roadmap
